Ahmet Günestekin is born on 22 December in Batman… His passion to painting begins ever since his childhood. He awards his first prize at the 3. class as he was 9 years old. His acquaintanceship with oil colors occurs at the same time. Thereafter the artist keeps on working permanently. In addition to this his interest to literature also appears at those ages. As he reaches the high school years he stages his first personal exhibition at the galery of his school. Shortly after his graduation, he goes up to Mimar Sinan University-Fine Arts Faculty. After a while he drops out of the school, at the following years he completes his graduation study at the Management Department of the University of Anatolien. For a period he goes into business but afterwards he turns back to painting. At 1997 he establishes his first studio in Beyoglu, stages numerous mixed and personal exhibitions. By means of his exhibition “the colours after darkness”, which he opened at 2003 in AKM, he begins gradually to let one mention his name in the world of art. Undersigning a great many of personal exhibitions, Günestekin’s works of art take place both in domestic and foreign important collections. Günestekin, who signs great achievements at painting with his distinctive language, attains also important successes on the design area.
