Troy’s Gate, the last part of Ahmet Günestekin’s Gate Trilogy , will be exposed between 5-27 february at Casa Dell’Arte Gallery.
The Gate of Heaven was the first part of the artist Ahmet Günestekin’s Gate Trilogy. The second part of this masterpiece, The Gate of Immortality was exhibited at Contemporary Istanbul’09. The last part of the trilogy, named Troy’s Gate, and will be exhibited at Casa Dell’Arte Gallery in february.
According to the myth; the 10 years war between Troia and Sparta began when the Goddess Eris, throwed an inscripted apple on the wedding table. This inscription, ‘For the most beautiful one’, was the reason that trigered the love between Paris and Helen, and started the Troy War.
The interest that the public showed for Ahmet Günestekin’s documantary named Troia he attained by creating the two art peaces named as The Vow to Troia and The Fall of Troia. With this glorious masterpiece he continues to tell this story of war and love.The public will have the privilegy to also view Günestekin’s 20 newest art peaces inspired by different Anatolian myths and legends.
