ÖZLEM ŞIMSEK

Özlem Simsek was born on 1982, Istanbul. Simsek, graduated from Marmara University with a degree in journalism. She received a full scholarship by the Swedish Institute and studied photography in Nordens Fotoskola, Sweeden in 2004. Her first photography project 'Take Care Of Yourself' was chosen for 'Young talents in Turkish Photography v.04' as selected by Genis Açi Photography Magazine. This project was shown in many cties in Europe and Turkey. She wrote critical articles for various magazines including Cumhuriyet, Genis Açi Photography Magazine and Hürriyet Gösteri. Simsek, finished her master's degree in photography at Dokuz Eylül Üniversity. Her topic of research is 'Photography As A Way Of Expression in Turkish Contemporary Art After 1980'. She lives and works in Istanbul.
